We love coffee. We believe in sourcing good coffee from good people for good people. We love our community and firmly believe everyone deserves good coffee.

Bee Coffee began in 2006 as a small coffee shop located on the Northwest side of Indianapolis. Bj Davis wanted a space dedicated to examining the craft of coffee, serving and sourcing with intention, and being a welcoming safe space for all.

These founding principles lead to the establishment of a specialty coffee roasting program in 2009, led by Andy Gilman. What started with a five pound roaster in the back room of the cafe grew over the next ten years to two locations, numerous wholesale partnerships, and a dedicated roasting space. As with many, the Covid era caused us to reevaluate parts of our business, and we closed our two retail locations. We wanted to get back to the basics of roasting and take some time to rest and reset.

For the last three years we have been a small batch roasting focused business. Several years ago we bought a restored roaster made in 1953 (the oldest member of our roasting staff) that allows us to roast up to thirty pounds at a time. We have maintained several longterm wholesale partnerships and have grown our internet retail steadily.

We loved seeing you in our cafes over the years and we love that you allow us to be a part of your daily lives. We look forward to serving you for years to come.
